Abstract

Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) is a very significant research topic in recent years. With the advancement of technology and traffic, people relied mobile communication, the application of VANET is widely used. The VANET has a variety of different features and applications. Many communication applications have some emergency situations in a VANET environment. In order to ensure a secure communication environment, security requirements of VANET have been proposed. Thus, how to protect communication security with limited resources is very urgent. This paper describes various applications and authentication schemes used in the VANET. We list security requirements of these scheme, and analyze it. The goal of this paper ensures authenticate identity is indispensable in any applications. We will make readers conversant with the basic environment and needs of VANET, and how to use efficient scheme satisfies these requirements in a high-speed environment.
