Abstract
Virtualization is the modern trend of networks development. Due to the SDN and NFV technologies, network equipment is being replaced by distributed software installed on the common servers. Thus, such challenges as load balancing and resource allocation become relevant for virtualized networks. In this paper three approaches to load balancing in EPC network are proposed: static approach, adaptive approach and energy aware approach. These approaches’ efficiency is analyzed using Matlab modeling. The results showed that proposed approaches allow to avoid QoS degradation in case of overloads in some parts of the network and energy efficiency of traffic processing is improved at the same time.
