Abstract

The course design of chemical engineering principles is an important practical link after the theoretical teaching of its principles, which aims to cultivate the engineering quality of students. The calculation of distillation column design is complex, and students often have the fear for the difficulty in the learning process. Auxiliary teaching through Aspen Plus software enhances students’ ability to solve practical problems and stimulates their interest in learning. Taking the design of distillation column as an example, this paper combines Aspen Plus simulation software with manual calculation to conduct the teaching design. This not only avoids the problem of heavy manual design tasks, but also trains students’ ability to use simulation software for engineering design.
