Abstract
Due to the high susceptibility of the elderly to infection, the lack of effective protection against the disease, and their declining physical functions, research on the consequences of COVID-19 in the elderly has remained limited since the disease outbreak. Through in-depth research, this study aims to discover what effect COVID-19 has on the colour perception of older individuals and to what extent. This study's primary target population consisted of 60-year-olds and older who were infected with COVID-19. The first step was to use a large-scale questionnaire to determine older people's age, gender, occupation, whether they had been infected with COVID-19, the length of time since their last infection, and whether they had any colour perception issues prior to infection. The FM100 and D15 colour vision tests, were then used to identify older individuals with current colour perception issues. The experimental results of this study indicate that COVID-19 does not affect the colour perception of older individuals.
