Abstract
Web applications are developed and modified often so fast that architects, developers, and managers lose their control over quality of such software products. Reverse engineering techniques focused on different aspects of software implementation might help in keeping comprehension to implementation of web applications at appropriate level required for fulfilling change requests. We focus our effort on a reconstruction of implicit associations among GUI data items and back-end database entities. Our approach is based on an association analysis and mining using a synchronized log of GUI events and related counterparts of SQL statements. Recovered dependencies between GUI and back-end databases can be utilized advantageously in an automated design of web application data flow testing.
