Introduction
Workplace sexual harassment in the United States is legally defined as a form of sex discrimination that violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and includes unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature that negatively affects an individual’s employment, work performance, or work environment (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission 2010).
