Abstract
Performance analysis of parallel scientific applications is time consuming and requires great expertise in areas such as programming paradigms, system software, and computer hardware architectures. In this paper we describe an extension to the Paraver performance analysis system that facilitates the programmability of performance metric calculations thereby allowing the automation of the analysis and reducing the application development time.
