Abstract
In this study, the ultimate accuracy of an RadioStereometric Analysis system was explored by computer synthetic images. Comparing computer synthetic images with joint phantom images, the correlation between RSA accuracy and image noise was revealed. Our study indicates that RSA has ultimate accuracies of 0 (± 1) μm, 0 (± 1) μm and 0 (± 4) μm along the X-, Y- and Z-axis, respectively, far more accurate than the phantom images with accuracies of 5 (± 38) μm, 6 (± 44) μm and 13 (± 76) μm.
