Abstract
This paper records the situation in the sector of transports in combination with the applications of intelligent transport systems. Into these frames, is useful to present some of the systems that contribute in the function of electronic transports, such as smart card and smart phones. The record analysis is in 3 levels. The first level concerns in European Union, the European framework on transport sector and many best practices that have been observed, the second in Greece and the applications that have been developed, in contrast to the European best practices and finally, the third level concerns in America and the targets of a mature ITS market. The findings show that intelligent applications on transportation are still growing.
