Effect of Interchain Coupling on the Scattering of Polarons and Excitons in Polymers

Abstract

Based on the SSH model and the nonadiabatic dynamics, the collision process of polarons and excitons in two polymer chains is calculated and simulated. It is found that, in the double chain system, when the interaction of electron-electron is weaker, polarons can move through excitons and when polarons and excitons are located in different chains, it is not easy for polarons to move through excitons. Interchain coupling leads to an easier disintegration when polarons and excitons collide against each other, which is significant for us to understand the photoelectric characteristics of polymers.
