Abstract
In this paper, a new underwater acoustic navigation method is proposed, which is named Doppler Acoustic Omni-directional Beacon (DAOB). It is borrowed from the idea of Doppler VHF Omni-directional Range (DVOR) and based on the Doppler principle. To overcome the serious multipath effect, a new signal mode which uses FM signal as reference signal and is named from FM mode is presented. The system error of is analyzed. Some simulation is presented to verify the performance.
