Abstract

Cotextual ellipses are characterized as being reconstructable in the context consisting of a previous utterance. In this paper, some constraints imposed upon an ellipsis resolution component for cotextual ellipsis are explored and illustrated by a description of the approach employed in the natural language dialogue system SWYSS.
