Abstract
Wireless connections for high-mobility scenarios lead to high demands on the applied transmission scheme. A typical scenario is the wireless communication with high speed trains, where the channel becomes fast time-variant. In this case orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) suffers from inter-carrier interference (ICI) and therefore performance degradation occurs. We present an OFDM based system applying windowing in the receiver to fight ICI, without undertaking major modifications of the underlying conventional OFDM system. Two possibilities, how to apply windows, will be discussed in this paper.
