Abstract
A new immersion acrophobia adjuvant therapy system (IAATS) was designed by us to help people with acrophobia escape the fear of heights. We built a realistic virtual scene, in which patients receive Virtual reality exposure therapy (VRET). Scenes of different heights are available to offer patients with different levels of stimulation. Patients can get continuous progress and corresponding feedback in the system. During the patient’s treatment, we collected the patient’s eye movement data and Electroencephalogram (EEG) data through certain algorithms and different external hardware devices. These two data are involved in Altitude layering agreement we designed to form a more reasonable treatment strategy. They can also be saved and further analyzed after the treatment. The effectiveness of the whole system still needs further experimental exploration.
