Zusammenfassung
Die vorgeschlagene Beziehung (1) zwischen dem Gefrieren von auf einer Partikel adsorbiertem Wasser und ihrer Eisbildungsfähigkeit wurde mit einem empfindlicheren NMR-Spektrometer weiter untersucht. Aufgetragen wird die Abhängigkeit von NMR-Linienbreite und Dispersionsignal-Amplitude gegen die Temperature für AgI und CuO-Pulver (Figuren 1-4). Es wird gezeigt, dass von allen Grössen, welche aus NMR-Daten berechnet werden können, die Amplitude des Streusignals oder das Produkt von Amplitude und Linienbreite am wichtigsten sind für die Beobachtung des Gefrierens von adsorbiertem Wasser. Der Einfluss des Wassergehaltes des Samples wird ebenfalls diskutiert. Wasser, das porenähnliche Räume zwischen (CuO) Teilchen füllt, ergab eine Hysteresis in der Amplituden-Temperature-Darstellung, ähnlich dem früher bei Silicagel beobachteten Effekt (2). Solches Wasser ist unerwünscht und hat keinen Zusammenhang mit der Eiskeimaktivität. Änderungen der Linienbreite beim Gefrieren scheinen mit der Übereinstimmung von Eisstruktur und Struktur des Keimes in Verbindung zu stehen.
