Zusammenfassung
Die weltweit zunehmende Regulierung im Datenschutz stellt global tätige Unternehmen mit grenzüberschreitendem Datenaustausch vor große Herausforderungen. Um die Übereinstimmung der eigenen Datenschutzregulierung mit internationalem Recht sicherzustellen und nachzuweisen, hat Merck & Co., Inc., ihre Privacy Policy sowohl an den Cross-Border Privacy Rules (CBPRs) der Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) als auch an den Anforderungen der EU an Binding Corporate Rules (BCRs) ausgerichtet und durch die Art. 29 Gruppe und die APEC zertifizieren lassen. Derzeit erfolgt die Angleichung an das EU-U.S. Privacy Shield-Abkommen.
