Abstract
We study the hadronic effects on the abundance of strange resonances in heavy ion collisions by focusing on the variation of the strange resonance abundance during the hadronic stage. Starting from the discussion on the reduction of the \(K^*\) meson abundance in the hadronic medium, we extend the rate equation in order to understand the abundance of hadrons involving more than three hadrons. Then, we investigate qualitatively the hadronic effects on the \(\Sigma (1385)\) baryon abundance during the hadronic stage; we discuss possible interactions between the \(\Sigma (1385)\) and light mesons in the hadronic matter, and further investigate the time evolution of the \(\Sigma (1385)\) abundance based on the time evolution equation, or the rate equation. We show how the interplay between the decay and formation of the \(\Sigma (1385)\) baryon in the hadronic medium results in the final abundance of the \(\Sigma (1385)\) baryon measured in experiments.
