Abstract

The configuration of monitoring tools for the unique bridge to the Russky Island across the Eastern Bosporus Strait was substantiated by means of risk analysis techniques combined with the calculation of recovery work cost over the designed 80-year lifecycle. The 80-year duration is based on the estimates of cable system durability. The choice of the optimal risk control strategy enabled the technical and economical justification of the monitoring equipment configuration, bridge’s lifecycle parameters optimization, as well as the anticipated significant recovery work cost saving.
