Abstract

On behalf of the organizing and program committees, welcome to FPGA 2005, the Thirteenth International Symposium on Field-Programmable Gate Arrays. This year's symposium features papers and posters describing the latest advances in FPGA architectures, CAD tools, Reconfigurable Computing and Applications. This year, we also feature a session on "New Directions for Programmable Devices" which will give a glimpse of the future of this fast-changing field. The task undertaken by the program committee this year was daunting. We had one hundred submissions, from which we selected twenty-four for presentation. We also selected forty papers for poster presentations.FPGA 2005 provides a relaxed atmosphere for informal information exchange, networking, and stimulating discussions with leaders in the FPGA field from both academia and industry. Paper sessions are separated by ample time to peruse the poster presentations and discuss the latest developments in the field. We hope you will take advantage of the opportunity to reacquaint yourself with old colleagues and make new contacts. We would like to thank everyone whose contributions have once again helped us provide a high quality program. This includes the program committee, the organizing committee, SIGDA, and especially the paper and poster authors and presenters.
