Abstract

ACM Virtual Reality Software and Technology (VRST) is an annual conference devoted to the technical aspects of virtual reality. The first VRST was held in Singapore in 1994 and since then it has been held in Japan (1995), Hong Kong (1996), Switzerland (1997), Taiwan (1998), England (1999), Korea (2000), Canada (2001), Hong Kong (2002) and Japan (2003). VRST 2004 was the eleventh VRST conference and it was held from 10-12 November, 2004 in Hong Kong, which is located at the southeastern coast of China with a population of nearly 7 million people and an area of over 1,100 square kilometers. VRST 2004 aimed at bringing together researchers from around the world to present the state-of-the-art technology on virtual reality research. The VRST technical program consists of high quality technical papers that are carefully reviewed and selected by an International Program Committee. Each paper in the program was reviewed by three to four members of the committee. Of the 82 papers received, the committee selected 22 papers as regular papers and another 10 papers as short papers for presentation and for inclusion in the proceedings.
