Abstract

On behalf of the Organization Committee, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 44th Annual ACM Southeast Conference (ACMSE 2006). This year, the conference is hosted by and held at the Florida Institute of Technology, in Melbourne, Florida. Thank you for your contributions to this regional event that continues to improve in quality. Proof of such success is in the increasingly number of international submissions we receive each year. ACMSE is an event dedicated to computer scientists and engineers seeking innovative ideas in various areas of computer-related sciences. It strongly encourages the participation of students by providing subsidized registration while offering most of the benefits of a regular attendee. The conference is being held in collaboration to two SIGs: the Special Interest Group on Applied Computing (SIGAPP) and the Special Interest Group on Design of Communication (SIGDOC). Our thanks to Barrett Bryant and Scott Tilley (chairs of SIGAPP and SIGDOC respectively) who helped us getting this support and encouraged us to run this conference. We must also thank our industrial partners for their financial and logistical support. This year we have Microsoft, Electronic Arts (EA), Raytheon, Essex, and Northrop Grumman as our corporate partners.Again, we welcome you to ACMSE 2006 and the sunny city of Melbourne, Florida. We hope you enjoy your stay and leave this event enriched with new ideas and colleagues. Next year, we invite you to participate in ACMSE 2007 to be held at Winston-Salem, North Carolina on March 23-24. The conference will be co-hosted by Wake Forest University and Winston-Salem State University.
