Welcome to the Eighth Symposium on Architectures for Networking and Communications Systems (ANCS 2012). It is our pleasure to present an excellent conference program for the meeting consisting of nineteen technical papers. The program also consists of two keynote addresses by leading researchers in the community, as well as two poster sessions. In addition, we are pleased to present a tutorial on NetFPGA.
A total of 64 papers were submitted from across the world to the conference. The 19 accepted papers represent a competitive acceptance rate of 29%. Each paper was assigned to at least 3, and in many cases 4, TPC members. The 23 members of the technical program committee and external reviewers completed an impressive 205 reviews! The program committee subsequently participated in an extensive on-line discussion to select the set of papers to be accepted.
