Welcome to the 14th ACM SIGPLAN/SIGBED Conference on Languages, Compilers, Tools and Theory for Embedded Systems -- LCTES'13. This year's symposium continues its tradition of being the premier forum for presentation of research results on leading-edge issues in embedded systems.
The call for papers attracted 60 submissions from Asia-Pacific, Europe, North and South America. Each submission was reviewed by at least four Program Committee members. An online Program Committee meeting was held over a week (25 -31 March) using the START Conference Manager Infrastructure. During the meeting, all Program Committee members could read, review and discuss all papers with which they had no conflicts of interest. The Program Committee considered all submissions carefully, taking into account the reviewers' assessments and external reviews solicited when necessary, and accepted 16 papers for presentation and publication at LCTES'13. The accepted papers cover a variety of topics, including safety and reliability, code optimization, performance prediction and testing, new storage technologies, programming language implementation, scheduling and design space exploration.
We are honored to have two keynote talks. The first one is given by Dr Youfeng Wu of Intel on HW/SW Co-designed Acceleration of Dynamic Languages. The second one is given by Dr Marcel Beemster of ACE on The Role of C in the Dark Ages of Multi-Core.
