Personal Highlights:
Andy Kinsey earned a B.A. in Pre-Theological Studies from the University of Evansville in 1985 and an M.Div. in Historical Theology from Candler School of Theology, Emory University, in 1988. He then studied in Germany at the University of Gottingen. He has a Doctor of Ministry in Evangelism from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University and is now working on a doctorate at Durham University in England.
His pursuits in theology and ministry have led to diverse publications. He has contributed articles and book reviews on evangelism, missional church, and theology to the Wesleyan Theological Journal, Missiology, Asbury Theological Journal, Reviews in Religion and Theology, and Witness, to name a few. He is also one of the editors of the Wesleyan Doctrine Series by Wipf & Stock Publishers and edited two editions of "Notes from a Wayward Son" and a festschrift on "The Logic of Evangelism Revisited," also by Wipf & Stock. He is co-editing a festschrift, "William J. Abraham: A Theological Profile," by Baylor University Press.
His pastoral work experience includes a student pastor appointment at First Moravian Church of Georgia in Atlanta, an Associate Pastor at The United Methodist Temple in Terre Haute, and an Associate Youth Minister at Calvary UMC in Brownsburg. I have also served as Senior Pastor at Community UMC in Vincennes (a merger of four churches) and Grace UMC in Franklin, Indiana. In addition, I have taught in the Course of Study and the License to Preach Schools in the Indiana Conference and in the Lantz Center for Christian Vocation at the University of Indianapolis. He has served in many capacities in both the church and community.
