Abstract
The combination of machine learning and collaborative robotics is creating a transformative movement in the field of advanced materials. In this presentation, Dr. Po-Yen Chen will outline three research projects that demonstrate the integration of these concepts: wearable sensor modules, strain sensors, and biodegradable plastic substitutes.
Biography
Dr. Po-Yen Chen is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Maryland and an affiliate faculty member in the Maryland Robotics Center. He received a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from NTU and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from MIT. His research focuses on the intersections of nanomaterials self-assembly, artificial intelligence, and robot–human teaming.
