Стоит сказать, что смерть, являясь важным и неизбежным событием в жизни любого индивида или общества, объединяет всех живущих (в прошлом, настоящем и будущем) и заставляет, так или иначе, строить с ней отношения, искать способы обращение. «Легитимация», как говорят о всех практиках и ритуалах, направленных на приручение и объяснение смерти, Бергман и Лукман [3] является необходимой для того, чтобы выстроить нормальные отношения между жизнью и смертью, наделив смыслом и то, и другое. Через смерть, человек ощущает временность своего существования, что обуславливает важность выбора, действий и жизни в целом. Для обращения со смертью (и тем, кто/что умерло) и, в связи с этим, понимания и/или продолжения жизни были изобретены многочисленные вариативные практики и ритуалы, невидимое понятие и событие смерти материализовывается, визуализируется, проговаривается и, таким образом конструируется, в соответствии с той культурой, эпохой и традицией в которой оно существует. То, каким образом это осуществляется, и что конкретно выбирается и отбрасывается среди материального и символического универсума, обуславливает конструирование истории и способов актуализации конкретных событий в ней. Через все разнообразие способов обращения со смертью, чье количество больше или как минимум равно количеству вариативности культур, способов понимания смерти и жизни, социальных, политических и экономических характеристик общества, мы запечатлеем ее, устанавливая, например, надгробные плиты, оставляя себе памятные вещи, украшая места смерти и/или памяти цветами, а детские могилы игрушками, вызывая воспоминание через определенного рода практики (ритуализированные: посещение мест памяти в специально отведенные дни, или повседневные, наделяемые специальным значением, как, например, прослушивание песни, которая была любимой у умершего человека). Все эти вещи, разумеется, делаются не только, и теперь уже не столько, для умершего или смерти, сколько для живых и смысла, и порядка самой жизни. За всеми этими практиками становиться виден концепт и феномен памяти, призванный соединять прошлое, настоящее и будущее, в каком-то смысле олицетворять концепт времени. Память, которая проходит связующим звеном в цепи жизнь-смерть-история-время-индивид-культура-общество становиться видимой, приручается, нормализуется и подвергается воздействию со стороны всех социокультурных характеристик общества через материальную культуры, видимые объекты, репрезентации, символические значения и пространства, конструируя представления и способы общения со всеми вышеперечисленными концептами. Память, а точнее её определенная конфигурация сохраняется, выражается и находит свое физическое, реально ощутимое присутствие в материальной культуре смерти, внутри которой частные вещи субъективной памяти могут стать публичными и наоборот. Дискурс утраты и траура как аспект культуры и идеологии оперирует через многочисленные способы репрезентации памяти, возможности которой позволяют в рамках материальной культуры концентрировать многочисленные пространства дополнительных значений, конструируя идентичности, создавая воспоминания и историю. Кроме того, мнемонический потенциал материального объекта, как отмечает Vincent [33, p.265], обусловлен тем, что материальность напрямую связана с сенсорным, телесным восприятием (зрением, слухом, осязанием), закрепляя связь и делая возможным обмен между живым индивидом и, по определению неживым, объектом, через повседневные практики обращения с ним. Как отмечают Хэллам и Хокей в своей работе “Death, Memory and Material Culture”[25] то, что было объектами памяти в прошлом, теперь ресурс для интерпретации истории, для создания «моста» между прошлым и будущим. Таким образом становится видна очевидная связь между индивидом (его телом), смертью (полной трансформацией статуса и потере тела), памятью, призванной легитимировать, объяснить и показать смерть, историей, временем и материальным миром, который имеет «контакт» со всеми вышеперечисленными понятиями. Гетеротопии, описанные Фуко[22], могут быть примером создания пространства с дополнительным значением. По его мнению, показательным примером тут могут служить кладбища, которые являются материальными продуктами культуры смерти, визуализации памяти, фиксирования постоянства времени. Эти места для памяти смерти, в целом или тех, кто умер, одновременно являются местами памяти о самой памяти: прошлом, истории. Разные способы смотрения на кладбище и обращения с ним, практики, осуществляемые в его пространстве, наделение символическим значением тех или иных объектов, говорят не только о смерти, памяти, жизни и их значении в данном обществе, но и о самом обществе, его характеристиках, способах мысли, инновациях. Взяв за точку отсчета только что обозначенные концепты и проведенную между ними связь, я хочу посмотреть, как конкретные социокультурные характеристики (секуляризация, индивидуализация, информатизация, дигитализация и некоторые другие) трансформировали способ обращения с современными местами памяти, а, соответственно и с формами памяти, смерти и их восприятия.
