We analyzed disease and wheat yield data from 42 uniform field trials conducted over 9 years (2012 to 2020) to assess whether the percent control and yield response were influenced by fungicide type, region (tropical or subtropical), and year. Six treatments were selected, all evaluated in at least 19 trials. Two fungicides were applied as solo active ingredients (MANCozeb, and TEBUconazole), and four were premixes (AZOXystrobin plus TEBU, TriFLoXystrobin plus PROThioconazole, TFLX plus TEBU, and PYRAclostrobin plus EPOXiconazole). Percent control, calculated from back-transforming estimates by a meta-analysis network model fitted to the log of the means, ranged from 43 to 58%, with all but PYRA plus EPOX showing efficacy >52% on average, not differing among them. An earlier analysis of 179 isolates of Pyricularia oryzae Triticum lineage (PoTl) sampled from wheat fields across six populations in central‐southern Brazil during 2012 discovered a high level of resistance to strobilurin fungicides. Here we analysed azole resistance in the same strains based on EC50 measurements for tebuconazole and epoxiconazole. All six Brazilian populations of PoTl exhibited high resistance to both azoles, with in vitro EC50 values that were at least 35 to 50 times higher than the recommended field doses. We sequenced the CYP51A and CYP51B genes to determine if they were likely to play a role in the observed azole resistance. Although we found five distinct haplotypes in PoTl carrying four nonsynonymous substitutions in CYP51A, none of these substitutions were correlated with elevated EC50. The disease can reduce grain yield by up to 70% and is best controlled using integrated disease management strategies. The difficulty in disease management is compounded by the lack of durable host resistance and the ineffectiveness of fungicide sprays. New succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor (SDHI) fungicides were recently introduced for the management of wheat diseases. Brazilian field populations of the wheat blast pathogen Pyricularia oryzae Triticum lineage (PoTl) sampled from different geographical regions in 2012 and 2018 were shown to be resistant to both QoI (strobilurin) and DMI (azole) fungicides. To support the global restart of elective surgery, data from an international prospective cohort ... more To support the global restart of elective surgery, data from an international prospective cohort study of 8492 patients (69 countries) was analysed using artificial intelligence (machine learning techniques) to develop a predictive score for mortality in surgical patients with SARS-CoV-2. We found that patient rather than operation factors were the best predictors and used these to create the COVIDsurg Mortality Score (https://covidsurgrisk.app). Our data demonstrates that it is safe to restart a wide range of surgical services for selected patients.
Este trabalho buscou descrever a taxa de mortalidade hospitalar por insuficiência cardíaca (IC) n... more Este trabalho buscou descrever a taxa de mortalidade hospitalar por insuficiência cardíaca (IC) no estado de Minas Gerais, de 2010 a 2019. Trata-se de estudo descritivo de cunho epidemiológico com base em informações coletadas no DATASUS. A mortalidade hospitalar por IC foi avaliada quanto à faixa etária, sexo e raça. O número de internações e de óbitos diminuiu, porém em proporções diferentes, de modo que a taxa de mortalidade anual foi maior ao fim do período. Os índices por faixa etária diminuíram em indivíduos de até 39 anos, com exceção do grupo entre 5-9 anos, no qual houve aumento significativo (22,07%). A partir de 40 anos, os índices apresentaram elevação, mais importante acima dos 70 anos. Os números são discretamente maiores na população feminina quando comparada à masculina (0,19%). As populações branca, amarela e indígena possuem maiores índices quando comparadas à parda e à preta. Observou-se, portanto, uma tendência de aumento da mortalidade hospitalar por IC em Minas...

For this purpose, a prototype has been built with support of a computational system installed in its interior. So, sensors are used for monitoring and control of the variables that most influence in the development of a vegetal species. This text gives a brief description of the germination factors related on the various possibilities of its use. The proposed system has a cloud-based storage and the effective contributions of the computer system are started from the web platform, transfer the set-points to the controllers, and upload data read from sensors to the same web page.
