Operations
The 4081st SW operated [{B-52 Stratofortress]]es from Harmon AFB as a dispersal base to more difficult for the Soviet Union to knock out the entire fleet with a surprise first strike. The wing was inactivated in 1966 with the closedown of Harmon AFB.
