The station went on the air as KLIO-FM on [[July 7, 1986-07-02]]. On November 19th, 2009 Emmis Austin Radio announced that effective Friday, November 20th at 5pm 107.1 KGSR, will begin simulcasting on 93.3 FM. KGSR will be heard on both frequencies on the radio dial for ten days. Then, KGSR will be broadcast exclusively on the 93.3 frequency effective Monday, November 30th.
