Munshi Wadud is a Bangladeshi famous lyricist.[1][2] He has been writing different kinds of songs including Bengali films songs, modern Bengali songs, country related songs etc. for more than fifty two years. Apart from Bangladeshi artists,his songs have been sung by famous artists of India.Indian artists who have lent their voices to songs by Munshi Wadud are Anuradha Padhowal, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Sadhana Sargam,Heimanti Shukla,Priya Bhattacharya,Avijit,Babul Supriya and Shan are particularly noteworthy. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Lyrics for the film Saajghor (2007).[3]

Early Life
Munshi Wadud was born on 8 November, 1954 in a noble Muslim family at Nakhalpara area of Tejgaon police station in Dhaka district. Father Md Shamsul Haque and mother Rabia Khatun. Wadud's father Md Shamsul Haque was a businessman and his mother Rabiya Khatun was a housewife. According to him, Wadud was very boundless from childhood. Wadud's grandfather is the founder of Nakhalpara Hossen Ali High School,Tejgaon. He is the second siblings of another three brothers and three sisters.
Family Life
Munshi Wadud is married to Nigar Sultana Nargis in his personal life.
This couple has three daughters namely: 1)Jeba Farah Mohna
2)Diba Farah Ridita and
3)Saba Farah Anchal.
Career
After attending the Bangladesh liberation war in 1971, Munshi Wadud signed a contract as a lyricist of Bangladesh Betar at the beginning of 1972 and started composing songs for Betar. Then, he signed other contract with Bangladesh Television. Then he made his debut in the film. At this time Bangladesh Radio authorities bought the rights of twenty one songs written by Munshi Wadud. According to that source, Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television's highest grade "Special" category listed lyricist "Munshi Wadud" has been involved in songwriting for fifty two years.
