please review the current GDP of Chennai. It is around $200bn considering the extended chennai metropolitan area after 2022. 00haza (talk) 07:13, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. M.Bitton (talk) 12:37, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

The images and its description in the infobox can be changed into more appealing and reader friendly way as in various city articles such as Mumbai, New York, Los Angeles where each image has its short description right below it. And also Chennai can be categorized as Megacity rather than Metropolis as it is listed as one of the megacities of India. Iambatman2022 (talk) 11:25, 11 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Chennai corporation founded by 1688

Not done The article already states "Chennai city is governed by the Greater Chennai Corporation (formerly "Corporation of Madras"), which was established in 1688" - Arjayay (talk) 13:36, 4 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

An easy typo: In the etymology section it should clearly say 1639 and not 1939. Arbitrer (talk) 20:51, 10 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

The article would benefit from a little addition of the Bombardment of Madras (1914) in the history section

In 1914 the German cruiser Emden bombarded the oil tanks in Madras and set them aflame, killing some civilians and damaging structures in the city. The ship got away completely unscathed despite being shelled from shore batteries in Madras. Someone with more Wikipedia expertise could add this as I am inexperienced. Lakh

In the section Demographics, the expression "3lakh" should be changed to "300 thousand" for better comprehension by the general user Marc With (talk) 07:25, 15 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
