I was an early contributor to Wikipedia. At the time I was in high school and Wikipedia was just starting out, so there were a lot of low hanging fruit. Today there are fewer low hanging fruit. However, I have some expertise in Taiwan, so I have been creating Taiwan related pages where appropriate.
I have created the following pages:
- My Favorite Season (Taiwanese film)
- Opinion polling on Taiwanese identity
- July 13 Penghu incident
- Wang Hao-yu
- Chen Ming-chang
- Sunset Rollercoaster
- No Party for Cao Dong
- Fire EX.
- Yuhan Su
- On Happiness Road
- The Reporter (Taiwan)
- Voodoo Child: The Jimi Hendrix Collection
- Jazz Impressions of New York
- North Chelmsford, Massachusetts
I have made contributions to the following selected pages:
- Waishengren
- Democratic Progressive Party
- Control Yuan
- Enno Cheng
- Tsai Ing-wen
- February 28 incident
- Transitional Justice Commission
- Ill-gotten Party Assets Settlement Committee
- Elephant Gym
I created the following pages which were deleted:
- Lance Wilder. It's a fair deletion. He grew up in my hometown and I added him in high school. You can still find him mentioned in the article Chelmsford, Massachusetts.
- Whistler's Mother (Arrested Development episode). Was merged into Arrested Development (season 1).
Projects
editThese refer to areas which I think have significant room for improvement on Wikipedia.
Project: Taiwanese politicans. I am somewhat undertaking a project to improve pages on Taiwanese politicians. I've made edits to the following pages.
Project: Taiwan democracy movement.
- Zhongli Incident
- Uyongʉ Yata'uyungana
- White Terror (Taiwan) could be significantly improved, and many examples within added
Project: Taiwanese media. The top 3] periodicals in each category should probably be on Wikipedia.
- Central News Agency (Taiwan) (seems to be a real dearth of information in English on this)
- CommonWealth Magazine
- Business Weekly
- Business Today
- various TV news/channels
Project: Taiwanese art. I plan to create or improve pages for the following artists, or at least monitor them to see if they meet notability.
- New Taiwanese Song
- Chen Da
- Huang Fei (expand)
- Dwagie (could be improved, sourced)
- Hsieh Ming-yu (could be expanded)
- YuYing Hsu (Discog: one album with Warner Music, probably not quite there yet)
- 楊秀卿 (Taiwanese chantefable master, clearly notable as she's become representative of the art and spearheads efforts for its preservation)
- Sangpuy (notable for winning Golden Melody Album of the Year)
- Sorry Youth (article I think not quite there)
- Ardor Huang (probably notable? very famous in Taiwan)
- Wu He (舞鶴)
