IPBE

edit

Hi! About a year ago I came to you asking (here [9]) for an IP block exemption as I was caught in an IP range block due to my use of a proxy, which I am still using. This exemption expires tomorrow, so I was wondering if I could possibly get an extension for another year, or however long would be standard? Thank you so much! estar8806 (talk) 01:25, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Estar8806: Courcelles hasn't been on-wiki since last April. You might want to ask someone else. zzuuzz does this sort of thing a fair amount.--Bbb23 (talk) 01:27, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Bbb23, ah, silly me should've checked that. Thanks for the heads up! estar8806 (talk) 01:29, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Remove protection from Chess in Azerbaijan

edit

The page is not about the conflict in any way besides talking about how chess is played in a country involved in it. It also has only gotten an average of 13 pageviews per day for the past month. This feels like a case of preemptive protection, which is against Wikipedia's protection guidelines, and especially here since the article getting any vandalism is a bit of a stretch due to it not being related to the conflict. I think I did see something at one point saying preemptive protection didn't apply to ArbCom contentious topic enforcement, so I apologize if I am wrong there.

Edit: There did seem to be some minor IP sockpuppetry right before ECP was implemented, but that can be fixed with pending changes or semi. ECP is too much. CharlieEdited (talk) 14:27, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Courcelles hasn't been around since April. I've removed the protection from the article.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:30, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
