Wikipedia and copyright
editHello DPGCMonsta, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Moonriddengirl (talk) 03:23, 25 January 2015 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Bossolo
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Bossolo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. smileguy91talk 16:14, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of The Big Show (song)
editThe article The Big Show (song) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Richhoncho (talk) 05:17, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

Erroneous edits concerning Ice Cube discography
editThere is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. WolfSpear (talk) 21:15, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
- Can you comment at ANI? You're doing a lot of editing at Ice Cube discography and it's all being reverted. You are not providing any sources from what I can tell so they have a good reason to do that but people would like your side as well. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 01:29, 2 September 2015 (UTC)
Yes, look at reference source #11 that lists all the RIAA certifications for Ice Cube. Clearly there is no 3x Platinum albums for him... as the source indicates. WolfSpear (talk) 12:38, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. editHello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:
- On the Daz Dillinger discography page, your edit caused a broken reference name (help). (Fix | Ask for help)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Everythang's Corrupt, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://digplanet.com/wiki/Draft:Everythang%27s_Corrupt.
It is possible that the bot was mistaken and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) CorenSearchBot (talk) 12:03, 12 March 2016 (UTC)

You were reported for edit warring at Ice Cube discography. Details of the complaint are at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring#User:DPGCMonsta reported by User:Orion XXV (Result: Declined). You can respond to the complaint if you wish. The user says you are adding wrong information to the discography. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 14:03, 13 August 2016 (UTC)
- I see a previous thread on your talk page: User talk:DPGCMonsta#Erroneous edits concerning Ice Cube discography about the same issue. You don't seem to have replied. A more detailed complaint was filed at ANI: Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive897#User:DPGCMonsta. If you go on editing discrographies and never reply to these complaints, you are risking a block. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 14:08, 13 August 2016 (UTC)
Falsification at Ice Cube discography
edit{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
. The full report is at this link. It seems you've been deliberately adding wrong information to Ice Cube's discography. You changed the leading digit of some sales totals to reflect more sales for his albums than are shown in the RIAA page which is linked as a reference. Ice Cube's actual gold and platinum American sales are shown in this RIAA page. You have been adding numbers that disagree with this page. 'AmeriKKKa'S Most Wanted' is shown as having one million confirmed sales according to the RIAA, not three million as you claimed in this edit. EdJohnston (talk) 00:56, 14 August 2016 (UTC)
