The High God, the true father of the gods, broke the fighting and told the gods they were all to create life and bless the creatures with one gift.  The gods of good grant them the gift of desire to control, the god of evil the gift of ambition, and the gods of neutrality the gift of free will.  This led to the creation of elves, humans, and ogres, the first life on Krynn.  In addition, the gods of magic were born at the end of the War.
