About the Game

Aquastax is a J2ME mobile game written in 2005-2006 by Infospace dev team (formerly iomo). Steve Longhurst was the lead developer. The game has been compared as a cross between Tetris and Lemmings. The goal is to save the 'Gumblers' from a flooding level by means of dropping and stacking coloured blocks from above and guide them to safety. With over 50 levels, it was an incredibly rich experience, and had the potential to be really big.

Reception

Overall, it garnered favourable reviews: Chris Maddox, Pokect Gamer, 16 November 2006: 'Easy to get into, nice bold visuals and an addictive quality makes Aqua Stax well worth a look for block-heads of all ages'[Review 1]

Developer

IOMO started in 2000 developing software for Mobile phone companies like Nokia. In 2006, InfoSpace aquired IOMO: As a studio within the InfoSpace group, IOMO games were published under the InfoSpace brand.
