In 1976, Dorn moved to the [[Munich Kammerspiele|Münchner Kammerspiele]] as a senior director, opening with [[Gotthold Ephraim Lessing|Lessing]]’s ''[[Minna von Barnhelm]]'' with [[Cornelia Froboess]] in the title role.<ref name="Goethe" /> He concentrated first on other German classical authors such as [[Johann Wolfgang von Goethe|Goethe]] and [[Heinrich von Kleist|Kleist]] and then focused on [[William Shakespeare|Shakespeare]].
