Fassuta is a Christian Arab village in the Northern District of Israel, south of the Lebanese border, on the northwestern slopes of Mount Meron.[1]
As of September 2005, the population of Fassuta was 2,900, with an annual growth rate of 0.9%. In 2000, 60.5 percent of high school students in Fassuta graduated high school.
The Mar Elias church in Fassouta celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2007. The church is named after Elias, the village's patron saint. A large statue of Mar Elias stands in the central square. [2]
