It Ends with Us is an upcoming American romantic drama film directed by Justin Baldoni from a screenplay by Christy Hall, based on the 2016 novel of the same name by Colleen Hoover. The film stars Blake Lively, Baldoni, Brandon Sklenar, Jenny Slate, and Hasan Minhaj.

It Ends with Us will be first released in Belgium and Phillipines on August 7, 2024, and is scheduled to be released by Sony Pictures Releasing in the United States on August 9, 2024.[6][7][8]

Baldoni, who will play Ryle Kincaid, is set to direct and Christy Hall will adapt the script.[11][12] In April 2023, Brandon Sklenar was cast to play the role of Atlas.[13] Filming began in Hoboken, New Jersey at Field Colony, a workspace and art gallery, on May 5, 2023.[14] Later that same month, Hasan Minhaj was announced to have joined the cast.[15] The next month, production had to temporarily pause due to the 2023 WGA strike.[16] Just over half of the film was completed when production shut down.[17] The production was still on hold when the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike began on July 14, 2023.[18] Filming resumed in the Newport neighborhood of Jersey City on January 5, 2024.[19][20] That same month, Isabela Ferrer and Alex Neustaedter joined the cast as the younger versions of Lily and Atlas, respectively.[21] Kevin McKidd confirmed his involvement in the film via an Instagram post on 17 May.

Release

The film was originally set to be released theatrically on February 9, 2024,[17] and June 21, 2024,[22] but the release date was pushed back to August 9, 2024.[23]

Reception

Box office projections

In the United States and Canada, It Ends with Us is projected to gross $23–30 million in its opening weekend, with some estimates going as high as $40–50 million.[5]
