Shunpei Uto (鵜藤 俊平, Utō Shunpei, born December 1, 1918) is a Japanese freestyle swimmer who won two medals at the 1936 Summer Olympics.[1]
Uto endured much hardship after World War II and deposited his both medals to a pawnshop to get some money for living. He later found a job in general affairs at the Niigata Nippo company, but was often bullied here. After retiring he moved to Chiba Prefecture to do agriculture.[2]
