I'm removing the Luther Stanley quote from the history section because it's riddled with errors. For one thing, Stevensville was never the capital of any territory. For another, Isaac Stevens did not lay out the town. According to [https://www.google.com/books/edition/Montana_Place_Names_from_Alzada_to_Zortm/08rAI9NEbcYC?hl=en&gbpv=0 Montana Place Names], G. A. Kellog did. For another thing, neither the mission nor the fort were in ruins at the time; they were both thriving. Lastly, Fort Owen was a trading post, not a military fort. I think that's enough error to justify scrapping the whole quote. [[User:VanillaBean28|VanillaBean28]] ([[User talk:VanillaBean28|talk]]) 19: |
