Hello, |
Hello, |

Just want to ask what the issue is with the revision here [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ba%27athism&oldid=1001446321]. As far as I know, [[Wikipedia:Copyrights|Wikipedia policy]] does not say you cannot summarize copyrighted work, only that you can't quote the text word-by-word. Is the new summary that I made still too close to the original source text? If so, please provide some kind of clarification regarding how different the summary should be from the original. Thank you. --[[User:Qahramani44]], 18:53, 19 January 2021 (UTC) |

Scripts++ Newsletter – Issue 19
News and updates associated with user scripts from the past month (December 2020).
Hello everyone and welcome to the 19th issue of the Wikipedia Scripts++ Newsletter:
Scripts Submit your new/improved script here
|
- Voting in the m:Community Wishlist Survey 2021 is ongoing until December 21, 2020. There are 15 proposals in the "bots and gadgets" category that may be of interest.
- A script to help list discussions at WP:ANRFC (request)
- A script to allow undoing edits despite conflicting intermediary edits (request)
- ...and many more, all available at Wikipedia:User scripts/Requests
- The Watchlist Expiry feature worked on by the Community Tech team has been enabled on Wikipedia. For scripts that include watching or unwatching pages, developers may want to update their code to take advantage of the new functionality. See the documentation on mediawiki.org.
- As noted in the prior issue, Enterprisey's links-in-logs script has now been implemented as part of MediaWiki core. By my count, this is his third script that was replaced by implementing the code in MediaWiki core or an extension, along with link-section-edits and abusefilter-hide-search. Additionally, his reply-link script is being converted in part to mw:Extension:DiscussionTools. Are there any other scripts that might be worth integrating directly in MediaWiki? Thoughts would be welcome at Wikipedia talk:Scripts++.
As always, if anyone else would like to contribute, help is appreciated. Stay safe, and happy holidays! --DannyS712 (talk) 00:19, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
Cite Unseen update
Hello! Thank you for using Cite Unseen. The script recently received a significant update, detailed below.
- You can now toggle which icons you do or don't want to see. See the configuration section for details. All icons are enabled by default except for the new generally reliable icon (described below).
- New categorizations/icons:
- Advocacy: Organizations that are engaged in advocacy (anything from political to civil rights to lobbying). Note that an advocacy group can be reliable; this indicator simply serves to note when a source's primary purpose is to advocate for certain positions or policies, which is important to keep in mind when consuming a source.
- Editable: Sites that are editable by the public, such as wikis (Wikipedia, Fandom) or some databases (IMDb, Discogs).
- Predatory journals: These sites charge publication fees to authors without checking articles for quality and legitimacy.
- Perennial source categories: Cite Unseen will mark sources as generally reliable, marginally reliable, generally unreliable, deprecated, and blacklisted. This is based on Wikipedia's perennial sources list, which reflects community consensus on frequently discussed sources. Sources that have multiple categorizations are marked as varied reliability. Note that generally reliable icons are disabled by default to reduce clutter, but you can enable them through your custom config. A special thanks to Newslinger, whose new Sourceror API provides the perennial sources list in a clean, structured format.
- With the addition of the new categorizations, the biased source icon has been removed. This category was very broad, and repetitive to the new advocacy and perennial sources categorizations that are more informative.
If you have any feedback, requested features, or domains to add/remove, don't hesitate to bring it up on the script's talk page. Thank you! ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 23:23, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
- SuperHamster, thanks! I really like the script, it makes it much easier to identify sources. — Yours, Berrely (🎅 Ho ho ho! 🎄) • Talk∕Contribs 10:13, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

Ann & Hope
Ann & Hope's website is redirecting to Vermont Country Store with a welcome message. How is this not appropriate to Ann & Hope's wiki page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 100.10.44.213 (talk) 18:50, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hi there 100.10.44 IP, I reverted your edit because, per WP:EXTERNAL, there should not be external links in the body of an article. The link you suggested would be better fitting for the External links section. — Yours, Berrely (🎅 Ho ho ho! 🎄) • Talk∕Contribs 18:53, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
Help me out with that. I'm not savvy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 100.10.44.213 (talk) 19:06, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
- The link is already in the external links section, so you don't need to do anything. — Yours, Berrely (🎅 Ho ho ho! 🎄) • Talk∕Contribs 19:14, 23 December 2020 (UTC)

I have resubmitted for review about 2 weeks00:28, 24 December 2020 (UTC)Kiraly17 (talk) ago - and am anxiously awaiting news...is there any action I can take to expedite a re-review with the ultimate goal of acceptance? Thank you very much for your consideration and all best wishes for happy holidays.Kiraly17 (talk) 00:28, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hi there Kiraly17, and thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. Whilst there is no set pattern for reviewing articles, I would review the draft, but I am currently unsure as to whether it is suitable for inclusion, so I'd prefer someone who has more experience in checking verifiability to do this. — Yours, Berrely (🎅 Ho ho ho! 🎄) • Talk∕Contribs 13:48, 24 December 2020 (UTC)

Nana Man
Berrely, I just want to let you know that the article I created does not need any citations as it is about my own comic books.
Thank you, Bs cool 2009 Bs cool 2009 (talk) 12:30, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
- Hi there Bs cool 2009, first of all, please make sure to declare your conflict of interest with {{UserboxCOI}} and adding {{Connected contributor}} to the draft talk. Regardless, even if you created the series, you still need references to prove the article is notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. Specifically, you need to follow the guidelines as WP:NBOOK. — Yours, Berrely • Talk∕Contribs 12:54, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
