Yeah, you can edit whatever article you want, but when you edit just about every article the I contribute to it seems like a personal attack in a way. From now on, I don't what to hear from you, ever again, and if you message me ever again I will report you for a personal attack of harassment. Got it? Im the Libby vandal

and yes I will continue to update and change the libby section in Wikipedia....

Your heavy reference to Grace and the Asbestos issue and its connection to Libby seem mean spirited.

An effort on my part to make a reference to a issue and yours to make the issues the focus of the town of Libby is counter to the sprit of Wikipedia....

I will continue to "vandalize" the section until real discussion about the town of Libby is addressed - not the actions of a american company. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 17.221.13.236 (talk) 18:13, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just in case you don't read my talk page--I know, why would you--so boring, so infrequently updated, I thought I'd move the comment left by the above unregistered user made at my talk page to your's since he's addressing you. Enjoy!
Hey WikiDin - We all agree that the article needs to be re-done.... For some reason it seems to slant to what has happened vs what the town of Libby is about. I found several articles about W.C. Grace and Asbestos. I will continue to make update and changes to the article until in the spirit of Wikipedia is fair and balanced. Oh just in case - yes the IP is Apple..Its my day job. Both my mom and dad have passed away, and like you, I would not own stock in a bankrupted co. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 17.221.13.236 (talk) 22:19, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rockford Files

Hi! I'm not sure exactly how to send messages in Wikipedia, but I see you sent me one about the Rockford Files info on the "Gabby & Gandy" pilot. I actually work for a TV station (WWME, Chicago) that airs the Rockford Files, and so a quick call to my buddy at Universal confirmed the info.

I also don't know how to add citations, so if you could put the info in and add a footnote as needed, that would be great! : ) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kbtv123 (talkcontribs) 20:26, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cool page, and go Suns. By the way, you might want to see Wikipedia:WikiProject Phoenix Suns. Have a nice day, Basketball110 what famous people say 01:22, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for creating it. I had put a redlink for it on Storm King Mountain ages ago and was hoping someone would create the article. I'll actually be driving by Storm King in Colorado this summer and am hoping to stop at the memorial trail for the firefighters who died. If so, I'll snap some pics for the article. --JohnPomeranz (talk) 15:52, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Elevation

1. Unlike inland cities and towns like those in Colorado or New Mexico, elevations of downtowns or city halls do not have much relevance for coastal cities. An elevation range might be more relevant.

2. Per MOS, units used in Taiwan should be in meters, not feet translated to meters.

3. In well-organized articles, inserting "Elevation: xxx" as a stand-alone paragraph seems very much inappropriate context. (In a stub, it probably wouldn't look weird.) If one elevation value is to be added, it would be more appropriate in the infobox or places other than the main text (like the latitude/longitude coordinates).

Copper Mining

Thanks for your corrections to Copper mining in the United States. I am sometimes a little sloppy when it comes to proper reference format. I guess that I've used so many formats that it's difficult to be consistent. Anyway, I made your correction to update the principal copper-producing states. Your list of top US copper mines looks great, and I think that it deserves a separate article. The article might also include other lists, such as: 1) other US copper-producing mines, 2) former or inactive US copper mines, and 3) major US copper development projects. Thanks. Plazak (talk) 21:23, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I follow the USGS convention, which does not capitalize "mine." Thus it is the Bingham Canyon mine (not Mine), and so on. Plazak (talk) 00:58, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lists of copper mines

You are right about references: unless the mine has a wiki link, the info should be independently referenced. Plazak (talk) 13:13, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not in this case the Residences at Packard Place are in Development they have all right to put that building and the chant tower on the list even tho the chant tower hasnt begun construction yet.. but we must have these two buildings on the list for lots of reasons and the buildings will each have only 30 stories. Construction of the Residences at Packard Place have already begun. So its really not Vandalism..well in this case anyways.

Citations for Kayne Gillaspie Article

Hello:

Thank you for the guidelines for citations. I have added citations to the Kayne Gillaspie article per your request. With this being my first introduction to writing for Wikipedia, I appreciate the feedback. As a journalist, I know the importance of citation. I just thought external links would be fine enough. Thank you for the correction.

Audrey Hepburn

Hello WikiDon. I agree that it would be nice if the page could be semiprotected. As you say Audrey does not deserve it. I also have the page for the Red Panda on my watchlist and this shy creature gets even more vandalism than Ms Hepburn. Go figure. I will warn you that, in my experience, unless a page is being vandalized almost continuously from a number of IP's that most admins won't protect it. But it is still worth a try. If they chose not to protect it then we will keep up the good fight against those *#%!@**! vandals. Cheers and happy editing. MarnetteD | Talk 10:53, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats. I noticed that PhilKnight protected the page, though it does not say for how long. I had not read your user page this morning so I did not realize that we are almost neighbors. I often take U.S. Route 285 to visit northern New Mexico as it is such a gorgeous drive. Keep up the good work and congrats again. MarnetteD | Talk 16:09, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I thought about the Nike joke too. I mean what is the head of that corporation doing taking the time to become an admin on Wikipedia? It looks like he gave it indefinite protection which is nice. Another admin might take it off one day so we will still want to keep an eye on it but it will be great that she will be left alone for the time being. I live in Denver so my 285 trip takes me through the mountains to South Park, then along the Arkansas river past Salida, then over Poncha Pass, through the beautiful San Luis valley, then past Mt Antonio and on south to Santa Fe. Sometimes I will take the trip east thru Taos and sometimes west from Antonito to Chama and then south thru Abiquiu. Beautiful drives all. It might have been the research that you did to show how much vandalism had taken place over the months that tipped the balance to getting the page protected so thanks for taking the time to do that. :-) MarnetteD | Talk 19:48, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I see you warned this IP. Are you sure this is bad-faith vandalism? This IP has made good edits to submarine topics before and I'm not sure this is vandalism.

If you're not sure, I encourage you to rescind the warning and apologize.

Thanks, --A. B. (talkcontribs) 20:57, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It might be a bit of puffery, by someone who obviously listens to Santo a lot, since most of what it says is true. I agree it needs citation. But what I saw was an IP address deleting something with no explanation. I took it to be vandalism. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 23:05, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh ya man there are Five Lowe's Hardware Stores in Northern New Mexico.. So what is the problem mister? I actually know i'm a surveyor in Northern New Mexico. Thomasalazar (talk) 03:38, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that is correct..as a matter of fact, when i worked at the Lowe's in Espanola for a couple months there was a large board in the staff room that showed how many lowe's employees there were in the state the board showed 6,000+ workers if i remember. It was odd when i didnt see lowe's on the list so i added it because i knew there were a large job contributor to the state. As well added there have been 2 new lowe's stores added in northern new mexico i have noticed. Thomasalazar (talk) 03:48, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies

I must have misread something. The sentence seemed to refer to Dollar being in True Grit not The Shootist. Please reinsert it and let me offer my apologies for not taking more care with what I was doing. Cheers. MarnetteD | Talk 22:30, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Again apologies if my note above was too curt. I was in the middle of trying to fix, as fast as possible, a whole bunch of booboos that I have made in adding infoboxes to British actors today. The stuff about Dollar is very interesting and should be part of The Shootist page. If you could flesh it out so that others don't make the erroneous assumption that I did I think that would be great. Thanks for taking the time to fill me in on this info. :) MarnetteD | Talk 22:46, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!

Thanks for the kudos Wikidon - I may finally be getting the hang of Wiki ref. I'd love to see the poem sometime.

Right now I'm struggling with editing out the last secion on Washita - cutting it down, actually. Seems as if removing 2 or 3 refs voids the whole last two sections on notes and refs. i need to figure this out. Thanks again!

I love your poem! - Reminds me a bit of Auden's "Shield of Achilles," a truly great antiwar poem. I always thought, though, that most of those guys in blue were really a bunch of (largely Irish immigrant) poor dumb bastards who got themselves killed (and as I point out, not nearly enough of them at Washita to call it a "battle") by the real villains, the bastards who had bars and stars on their unis and not chevrons.Sensei48 (talk) 07:41, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: References > Citing sources

When you make additions, like you did to Harry S. Truman, please cite a source. See: Wikipedia:Citing sources. Thanks. ~ WikiDon (talk) 18:43, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I did not make additions, I just merely put two pieces of information that were already there into one (somewhat) easier to read sentence. (Or at least, this was my intention.) Your beef is actually with the people who put those original pieces of information into the article in the first place. --Champaign (talk) 18:52, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have attempted to research who was/were responsible for putting the information on Anderson Truman's middle name and how it's spelled in the article on Harry S. Truman, but there are just too many entries to go through (I tried to sift through something like 2000 edit entries that chronologically preceded my own without noticing a single reference to the section on Truman's middle initial; it was just too overwhelming) without the ability to only see an article's history applicable to a section without seeing the history of the entire article. So, I gave up. But it appears that you fixed the problem in the article anyway. I have just sent the Wikipedia staff an email about the possible necessity of adding the ability to see a section's history. I'll let you know if I hear anything back. Thanks. --Champaign (talk) 19:48, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Too Young to Die?

I went back to look at my edit and I have no idea what I was attempting to change. I don't think I intended to alter her name, and I certainly wasn't out to vandalize the page, but thanks for the accusation.

I'm sorry I didn't mention it, but I was on holiday and pretty much only doing basic things on Wikipedia when I had some free moments. I did see your comment and I looked at the Wikiquette alert that you posted, but I intended to get more involved once I finished my Wikibreak. Anyway, I'm back now, so if there's anything you need me to do I will see to it. ... discospinster talk 21:25, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I had actually logged a Wikiquette alert against this user in April but the page gets archived so frequently that it disappeared. You can find it here: Wikipedia:Wikiquette alerts/archive44#User:Thomasalazar. In it I mention another user that I suspect of being a sock puppet (User:EVHS (NNYDL), who stopped editing after I brought it up).
The entry underneath it is from User:Diamond Joe Quimby making complaints against me. It is interesting to note that I had never come in contact with him/her prior to the Wikiquette alert being logged, leading me to believe that Diamond Joe Quimby is also a sockpuppet.
Also, another user raised a Wikiquette concern about Diamond Joe Quimby just the day before mine here.
I can copy this info into your case file if you'd like, or you can just use it any way you like. ... discospinster talk 23:11, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have taken the above information plus the evidence you amassed so far in your casefile and put it all in WP:SSP format here. We can sign the report and submit it. I think there is enough for an initial submission, since the report can always be added to afterwards. (Note that I did not mention some of the users that you suspect are sockpuppets, since we don't have evidence of it at the moment. Besides which, other editors who see the report will sometimes find further evidence themselves.) What do you think? ... discospinster talk 00:02, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I guess it's ready, we just need to sign it by putting four tildes under the part that says "Report submission by". I've signed it, and it just needs your signature. ... discospinster talk 15:38, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please Don't

Dear WikiDon,

I realize that I am new to this whole Wiki thing but I do have the desire to share information. However as gentle as your comments may have seemed perhaps it would have been better to just fix the mistake you saw. True it does not teach me better grammar or typing finesse but your comment only served to dissuade me to use wikipedia. I however am made of tougher stuff than that and will continue to use wikipedia.

Thank you though for you alertness and I apologize for the mistakes that I did make I'll keep them in mind in the future.

You know I realize editing grammar and style on wikipedia must be hard. Everyone probably things you are jerk when you make comments but I do think that the community needs people who watches that the style is maintained. So thank you for your help even if it stung at first. Please keep up the Work.

Thank You

Copyvio section on my talk page.

What in the hell are you talking about when you say "Copying and pasting text from other websites? is in direct violation of copyright? I know that one already, so there's no need to reinforce it by posting such a lame and idiotic post to my Talk Page. Also, I don't know if you were aware, but GilligCoaches.NET is MY OWN, yes MY OWN website. Therefore, I reserve 100% FULL RIGHTS to copy ANY LINE OF TEXT from MY OWN WEBSITE as I see fit. Also, that copyright tag, featured exclusively on GilligCoaches.NET and GilligCoaches.NET alone, HAVE NOT been posted by ME on Wikipedia at ANY TIME in the history of my account here. I think you're barking up the wrong tree, and I suggest you delete that entry because you have no grounds for ever posting it. Also, if you had paid closer attention, right below the main history section, there was, in PLAIN AS DAY TEXT, a tagline at the bottom which read:

I've authored a condensed and derivative form of this for the Kenworth article on Wikipedia.

As for the other two posts, which I find unnecessary and totally ridiculous, would you mind explaining yourself? Srosenow 98 (talk) 08:06, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you are in doubt as to who I am, e-mail me at the address listed on my website. That should be a guarantee enough, I think. Also, if need be, I can also provide another Wikipedia editor who has in the past submitted material for GilligCoaches.NET. Srosenow 98 (talk) 08:44, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also, your ignorance has obviously overlooked this KEY PART of WP:COPYVIO, as well as my own USER PAGE which makes an OBVIOUS and BLATANT REFERENCE to GilligCoaches.NET and who I am.
Some cases will be false alarms. For example, if the contributor was in fact the author of the text, then even if it is published elsewhere under different terms, they have the right to post it here under the GFDL – the text may still be unsuitable for Wikipedia for another reason, but it is not a copyright violation.
I've given enough proof that I wrote the text, therefore, there was NO copyright violation that took place here. Enough said. And what started this?! I can understand a slight concern if it were someone else, but for petessakes, do some goddamn INVESTIGATING before you outright ATTACK me, and my editing methods. Goddamn, man, you even sound like an elitist with how you seem to correct me. Srosenow 98 (talk) 09:03, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Do I need to go to an admin to handle this case? Apparently, your lack of understanding of the situation leaves me no choice but to go that direction. I have given ample proof of who I am (by citing numerous references both here and in the Kenworth Talk Page), yet you still seem to doubt me. Furthermore, you've not provided me any answer to what initiated this ridiculous, rather immature and ill-conceived diatribe, nor why you first went on the attack against ME before posting any concerns on the article's talk page (as per guidelines set in WP:COPYVIO. Srosenow 98 (talk) 09:22, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I followed the rules to creating that section to a "T" before you even started that nonsensical madness. It's also stupefying that you STILL have not provided me any sort of clues as to why you started it in the first place. Srosenow 98 (talk) 09:37, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Still no answer, and yet every single WP guideline you show me, I've followed to a T EVEN BEFORE you started this madness. Srosenow 98 (talk) 09:42, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, letsee here. Right at the bottom of the Pacific History section. In nice - yet still clearly visible under the largest desktop resolutions - fine print, reads a statement, which I actually borrowed from another website whose author ALSO donated portions of his website to WP! :

I've authored a condensed and derivative form of this for the Kenworth article on Wikipedia.
It's fair, to the point, and gets the job done. Worked on the website I borrowed the idea from! Srosenow 98 (talk) 09:56, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Huff, Texas

The only Huff I can find is this one Huff, Texas in Archer County. Must be more a spittoon gathering place? ~ WikiDon (talk) 23:03, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So, you are willing to change Limestone County to Archer County? That's fair walkin' distance. But, it does seem to make this: "Huff Community Elementary, and Wichita Falls, Texas"; make a lot more sense. The one I found in Archer County is very close to Wichita Falls. ~ WikiDon (talk) 05:08, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not only willing, but I'm very interested in upgrading it and other articles to whatever is true and correct. I incorrectly listed Limestone County in the initial draft of Evans based upon verbal information, but I changed it to Archer County after reading Evan's birth cirtificate. I think that small tidbits of our history are significant, I think revisionist historians do us all harm, and I think it's best for all of us to tell it like it is (was), along with the good, the bad, and the ugly. Thanks for finding the info on Huff, Texas. I appreciate it. Dr. B. R. Lang (talk) 16:13, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ben Johnson

I replied to your edit on the Ben Johnson talk page but will copy my post here. But as the first standard of WP editing policy is civility, I must confess that I feel somewhat uncivilly treated. My impression of your remark on my talk page is one of anger and arrogance, something that does not seem justified by any edit or comment I made. Perhaps I misread your intent, but I try to conduct myself here as generously and kindly as I can, and I felt quite disrespected by your tone. Here are my remarks from the Ben Johnson talk page. I hope you will read them in the spirit in which I wrote them, one of hoping to collaboratively edit the article in such a way that verifiable truth is arrived at. Thank you. QUOTE: Osage vs. Cherokee== Can you provide a citation for the Cherokee heritage? It doesn't match my own information, but neither of us has posted a citation to back up the point. I'm willing to concede if you've got a cite, as I can't begin to remember where mine is without more digging than I've got time for. But as it's a point of disagreement, I hope you'll agree that a real citation is necessary. I'm a Cherokee and have been unable to find his family on the Dawes rolls. Doesn't mean I'm right, but add that to his being born on the Osage rez and it's certainly a disputable point. Monkeyzpop (talk) 02:54, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps you were indeed attempting to communicate in nice rapport. Phrases like "What is your problem?" confused me, since people don't usually use that phrase when they're being nice. Anyway, I accept your statement. My problem with the rootsweb cite is that it doesn't say Cherokee, does it? Does the obit? In my conversations with Ben, he never said anything about being Cherokee. I never heard anything but Osage. But that's OR. All I'm saying is that a RELIABLE cite for his heritage would be good, one that actually states what it is, and does so in a non-hearsay manner. The documentary (which I've never seen) may or may not state it with references, or maybe just hearsay. All-Movie Guide is full of errors. All I'm trying to do is arrive at a verifiable truth, if one can be found. Nobody's spitting on your work. Monkeyzpop (talk) 21:10, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Marlon Brando

That section of the article does deserve to be removed. There are no resources and no facts, also no proof. So even though I removed it three times, I will continue to remove it even though I might get blocked from editing, if I do get blocked from editing I will inform a higher-up Admin on the situation and explain to him there are no verifiable resources or facts to prove the statement. I don't recall you being an Admin. General Mannino (talk) 17:20, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What a "peace"ful note up above! I've run into more than one of these users (at least Thomasalazar and Diamond), but never more than one at a time; as I've never encountered anything sockpuppetish with them, I'll refrain from commenting on the sock notice. But still: thanks for informing me of it. Nyttend (talk) 13:59, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Diamond Joe Quimby

PoliticianTexas is not a sockpuppet of User:Diamond Joe Quimby; it's the same account, renamed following a request at WP:CHU. I've removed your SSP tag. – iridescent 15:37, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If I bring you flowers???

Will you follow me around? I need somebody to double check my spelling and grammar. I thought that the "it's" might be wrong. I new it was a contraction for "it is", but couldn't remember if it was also possessive of the "review": "...in it's review..."

Candy? ~ WikiDon (talk) 06:26, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hee! "It's" means "it is" or "it has"; "it's" never means "belonging to it". But don't worry: many people make that mistake. If I followed everyone who made that mistake around, I'd be following around 1/2 of all Wikipedians! ;) Best wishes and happy editing, Firsfron of Ronchester 06:40, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

STOP

Please stop messing with articles I edit or create (not including Marlon Brando, I'm talking about the Mannino page and other pages, every page I contribute to you have to edit it). If you continue to do this I will inform an Admin. Please stop! General Mannino (talk) 04:50, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, you can edit whatever article you want, but when you edit just about every article the I contribute to it seems like a personal attack in a way. From now on, I don't what to hear from you, ever again, and if you message me ever again I will report you for a personal attack of harassment. Got it?
