This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Jon Harald Søby (talk | contribs) at 07:25, 21 February 2011 (no:Daily News (Tanzania)). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

The Daily News is a newspaper in Tanzania and owned by the Tanzanian government.

It was founded about 76 years ago then known as Tanganyika Standards and published by Lonrho group. When the then Tanganyika Government took over its control the name changes to 'Daily News' but the company which publishes it retained the name 'Standard' and is still known as 'Tanzania Standard (Newspapers) Limited. Its Kiswahili sister Habari Leo was established in 2007. It is in tabloid form unlike the Daily News which together with the Sunday News are all broadsheets.

Editions

Daily News is the English version newspaper [1] while HabariLeo is the Swahili version newspaper. [2] There is also a Sunday edition called Sunday News.
