Took "Poker" Off the List

[edit]

Fundamentally different than the games described - the player is not betting against the house and an immutable house edge, but instead other players where his edge is fluid.

Is this article correctly named?

[edit]

Aren't most of the games listed really table games? Vegaswikian 20:18, 9 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Standard deviation

[edit]

It states in the article that there is a 0.1 % chance of losing more than $10.01 if you play 10 rounds betting $1 each time. This is clearly wrong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.250.155.204 (talk) 08:07, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Casino War

[edit]

Is this really a casino game? Have not seen or heard of it. Vegaswikian 19:27, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. It is not very popular, the house advantage is high. Accurizer 21:38, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Solitaire

[edit]

Don't casinos in Monte Carlo offer Klondike Solitaire as a casino game?

Volatility Index

[edit]

The article mentions that the sqaure of the volatility index is the statistical quantity variance. This is not true. Variance is (Particluar Payout - Average Payout)^2 * chance of Particular Payout summed across all payouts. In the case of double zero roulette it is (1 + 2/38)^2 * (18/38) + (-1 + 2/38)^2 * (20/38) = 0.997 . The quality PQ, which is listed as the "volatility index" is not particularly meaninful for most casino games, as few games are simply binomial win/lose. I recommend removing the whole discussion and instead listing standard deviation per hand/spin and variance (square of standard deviation). —Preceding unsigned comment added by NolanAlex (talkcontribs) 22:02, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
