Stop the disruptive editing. Somalia has neither control nor any jurisdiction on the port of Berbera as per the DP World deal [1], [2] and also the recent UAE military base deal. Kzl55 (talk) 15:34, 25 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No one is talking about DP World here, as the template is appropriate for inclusion in the Somalia template in line with template . and the template was there at the beginning [3]. therefor I'm gonna include all from NPOV.Somajeeste (talk) 15:50, 25 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You seem to be ignoring that Somalia has neither jurisdiction nor any control over the port, as evidenced by both deals that Somalia rejected but went ahead anyway. Somaliland signed the port deals with the UAE as a state which further proves Somalia has neither jurisdiction nor any control over the port. Kzl55 (talk) 15:54, 25 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The city and port of Berbera port are under the control and jurisdiction of the Somaliland goverment, and this deal with DP world is just an example of the the control Somaliland has over the port (https://www.dowjones.com/scoops/dubais-dp-world-agrees-to-manage-port-in-somaliland-for-30-years/). Somalia attempted to stop the deal going ahead by appealing to the Saudis to intervene (http://allafrica.com/stories/201702240588.html), why would you ask a foreign country to intervene if you had any jurisdiction over the port?Ciiseciise007 (talk) 16:44, 25 May 2017 (UTC) Ciiseciise007 (talk) 16:44, 25 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ownership of port

The article states "On 1 March 2018, Ethiopia became a major shareholder following an agreement with DP World and the Somaliland Port Authority. DP World holds a 51% stake in the project, Somaliland 30% and CDC Group the remaining 19%. [12]". This is not supported by the reference, which discusses an unspecified stake by the CDC Group and is dated 2022. The reference at the end of the paragraph (no longer on the DP World website) announces the agreement but says the 19% stake belongs to Ethiopia.

It's been reported that Ethiopia lost its stake because it failed to make the required investment (see here), so it is possible that the 19% stake was later picked up by the CDC Group, but this is speculation and not supported by the sources given. I'm reluctant to make changes as I don't know the current position. —  Jts1882 | talk  09:15, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
