[edit]

Hi, I believe this now passes WP:TVSERIES as a soon to be nationally released television series on a major channel that has reliable sources content about its production. The content about it in the previous series article has been removed. Waiting for the mainspace redirect to be deleted, imv Atlantic306 (talk) 19:39, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This is not released yet. We can wait till then. - The9Man (Talk) 03:46, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see any reason to be hurried when that will fail the policy even for a few days. - The9Man (Talk) 17:00, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It already passes WP:GNG so it does not fail any policy. There are many US television series articles that are published more than 6 months in advance that have similar or worse references than this, imv Atlantic306 (talk) 00:56, 16 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Merging into Saath Nibhaana Saathiya

[edit]

This series is actually not a spiritual successor of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya as evident in the plot and flashback sequences from season 1 shown in the series. Though a new family Desai is introduced whom are the main focus here whose plot is based on Bengali series Ke Apon Ke Por, few casts from season 1 reprise their role for initial support of the series which is just for few weeks or months as reported and their story continues here where lead character of season 1 Aham who was shown dead there is shown alive here (with they stating the current track happening five years after that incident in season 1) unaware of his identity suffering memory loss, living with the Desais and Modis comes across Desais and learn it. This makes it a partial continuation of season 1 combining Ke Apon Ke Por plot as season 2 of the series with Desais family story being a major one and Modis a cameo one and not a spiritual successor with entirely different story and casts as in cases like Beyhadh, Beyhadh 2 and Ek Duje Ke Vaaste, Ek Duje Ke Vaaste 2 having separate articles. So should it be merged with Saath Nibhaana Saathiya or let it be as it is? Noobie anonymous (talk) 08:08, 30 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose, that would make the plot too large and cast too large. The second series is independently notable and needs its own page, imv Atlantic306 (talk) 02:36, 31 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Atlantic306: The sum total of both articles appears to be 60k (SNS) + 20k (SNS2) = 80k, which would be within the normal range for WP:SPLIT, but there is likely 1) too much plot detail for SNS, some overlap of actors/characters in the cast section, a repetition of content in terms of infobox, categories, or other default content, a questionable "In popular culture" section, etc. I don't think it's out of the realm of question to propose merging. And in Indian television there is a not a clear distinction between a brand new series and a new season that features a leap of some kind. Just something to think about, maybe. Or not. Hi, personally i believe it would be better for Indian serials to follow the US example and have seperate series articles as that reduces exponential plot boat and cast bloat in the original article and gives more space for valid plot details in the subsequent articles, imv Atlantic306 (talk) 20:50, 31 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose: I agree with Atlantic306's assessment. The second season appears to be distinct enough for a SPLIT from the first one. Plus it's easier to organize the cast tables, reception section etc. The show received excellent TRP's in its first week which makes me think that it's gonna be around for a while, so a separate article is definitely more sensible keeping the future in mind. Suggestion re: Special appearances from Saath Nibhaana Saathiya

[edit]

From what I can tell from the various edit wars I've seen here, there was some division about including Devoleena Bhattacharjee and Rupal Patel, etc. I don't know this series, but it seems like the main cast from Saath Nibhaana Saathiya were introduced into the series to kickstart the sequel, and once the sequel got going, these people left. If that's the case, then the "Special appearances from Saath Nibhaana Saathiya" section could use some prose to explain that, because it's both significant and would help clarify why there is a special appearances section.
