Rationale for registration requirement

[edit]

This template should include only currently registered parties. First, the list of defunct parties is too long to include in this template. Second, the list of future parties violates WP:CRYSTAL. I hope that no more reverts are necessary. --vuo (talk) 21:41, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

how big/unruly is that list? we have the notable based parties on wikipedia and we can list the,m.Lihaas (talk) 02:57, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It can be read at List of political parties in Finland. Remember that there are even currently no less than seven associations that aspire to become parties. 65 parties can be found in the list of defunct parties. None of these belong to the current list of parties. In fact, including parties outside parliament is a stretch already, since the task of a template like this is to give a good and quick overview to people who know nothing about Finland or Finnish politics. --vuo (talk) 21:43, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think the template should include all currently functioning parties, including those not in the party register. There isn't too many of them. What future parties? - the islamic party was founded 3,5 years ago. --Ap4k (talk) 13:58, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The purpose of this template is not to be comprehensive. Let's reword that. This template should not list all associations in Finland. It is confusing already when extraparliamentary parties are included. In fact, the template would be better if it contained more information about parliamentary parties instead, not trying to list everything possible and impossible. I think that a simple link to the list of extraparliamentary parties would be sufficient in such a template. --vuo (talk) 22:51, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
