Notability of A.C. Bastia 1924

[edit]

A tag has been placed on A.C. Bastia 1924 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Theymos (talk) 17:25, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Old version of A.C. Bastia 1924

[edit]

You can see the old version on google cache. Here is the text:

AC Bastia 1924 is an italian football (soccer) club based in Bastia, Umbria. Currently Bastia plays in the regional championship of eccellenza umbra. Their colours are white and red.

History

The club was founded in 1924, the first line up was: Bartolucci Antonio; Mencarelli Brasillo, Cingolani Igino; Caldari Fioravanti, Alunni Annibale e Pascolini Alfredo; Petrini Arcangelo, Farello Giovanni, Bucefari Vincenzo, Celori Pronto, Giannotti Gino.

In the early years the team didn't play in a official championship because of lack of money and played only friendlies. In 1935-36 the club played in the campionato unico per dilettanti.

The club played in this campionship until to 1945. In 1945 Bastia played in Prima Divisione. In 1947-48 the team was promoted to Serie C but the team was forced to renounce to it because of economical problems. In 1948-49 the club played in Prima Divisione, in 1949-50 in seconda divisione. In 1952-53 the club played in Prima Divisione because prima divisione was merged with seconda divisione.

In 1953-54 Bastia played in promozione regionale. Afrer two years in Promozione the team was promoted in 1955-56 in IV Serie (Serie D) winning the promotion playoff against Gubbio. After two years in IV Serie the club was relegated.

I still don't think it's important enough, though. The only other Serie D teams that have articles are champions. I'm going to put a speedy delete template on it. You can add some mainstream english news sources to prove its importance.--Theymos (talk) 18:52, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And also, if Google Cache's text isn't enough, contact User:Rudget. He's the one who deleted your page, and he can get the deleted text.--Theymos (talk) 18:56, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
