Heat melodrama

[edit]

ScienceApologist was apparently ticked of that TWTTTL decided to merge heat into thermal energy. Part of the problem is that TWTTTL thought that he was right and was completely unwilling to compromise, to consult any references, or to admit he was wrong. ScienceApologist had the correct information, but he could not understand how TWTTTL could be so stubborn, nor could he persuade TWTTTL (who is impervious to persuasion). The two then engaged in an edit war over heat. I think it was the fact that TWTTTL was completely impervious to logic that drove ScienceApologist away.

I have had encounters with TWTTTL before. TWTTTL thinks that he is always right and is unwilling to compromise. If you have any encounters with him, I suggest immediately finding an administrator and seeking invervention. Negotiation with him is useless. Dr. Submillimeter 20:51, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Magnetic field

[edit]

Thanks for your comments over on talk:Magnetic field and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Physics. I think the correct strategy for dealing with this anon is going to be references to reliable sources (like Griffiths and Jackson), consensus building, and succinct statements addressing/correcting this anons interpretations. The anon is given to long, drawn-out explanations, and indulging in this kind of debate with him doesn't appear at all productive. Please continue to keep an eye on the discussion and feel free to throw in thoughts when you can, especially as this will be the key to consensus building. Again, thanks for your responses. --FyzixFighter 17:51, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:PaperXI Small.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:PaperXI Small.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 16:59, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
